Deacon Candidates
Derek Holmes
Derek and his wife Angela have been members at FBC since 2015 and have been married for 32 years. They have two adult daughters. Danielle is married and living in the St. Louis area, and Megan; the youngest, is working and living in Seattle. Derek came to know Christ as his savior at the age of 17 and has served in a number of ministry roles in the past. While living in the Chicago area, Derek served as a Deacon for 9 years, as a Connect Group teacher for 5-6 graders, and as an adult teacher for the Young Married class. Here at FBC, Derek and Angela attend Kurt Schultz's Connect Group, serve Sunday mornings with Kid's Worship, participate in VBS, and traveled on one of the mission trips to Montana.
Derek's prayer is for the FBC family to be one that supports and nurtures one another and is a loving family that the Wentzville and surrounding communities see as a place where they can find God and share in the love of Jesus.

Lloyd Lauck
Lloyd has been a member of FBCW since moving to Wentzville in May, 1986. He raised three children with his wife, Donna, of 50 + years, living in the Wentzville community. Lloyd and Donna have three adult children: Katie, Rachel and Jake. Lloyd and Donna were very involved in youth ministry in past years. Lloyd was also an usher and member of the building committee. He and Donna are in Neil Berry Jr’s Connect Group.
Lloyd received Christ at the age of 22, after attending a Bible study that he was invited to by friends. He also led his wife to Christ by example, shortly after his salvation. They were married in 1974 and moved to Defiance, MO. They were visited by the pastor of Weldon Spring Baptist church and Neil Berry Sr. They became members in 1976, being baptized together shortly after joining the church.
Over the past 39 years, they have made so many lasting friendships that have felt more like family. It was so important for them to be surrounded by other families raising children like them. They realized how important it was to be involved with your children in church. Lloyd feels strongly that our church needs to reach out to families with children while also providing environments for them to know and follow Jesus. He values opportunities for the church family to gather in community. Lloyd believes strongly that we should love God and love people.
