Ralph Sawyer, Senior Pastor

Brother Ralph has been Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church Wentzville since September of 1999. He enthusiastically married Sherri Lynn (Keen) on April 23, 1977. The Sawyers have five children: Angela, Teresa, Andrew, Stephanie, and Valerie. They also have five exemplary grandchildren born to Thadd and Angela Lapsley: Benjamin, Timothy, Matthew, Abigail, and Joshua.

His life verse is 1 Corinthians 15:58.

Grant Jessen, Music and Administration Pastor

Grant is a native of Missouri. He joined the staff of First Baptist Church in December of 1994. Grant has a passion for utilizing the gift of music as one of many avenues by which true worship can be expressed. His wife, Lori, is also a native of the St. Louis area and is the building principal at West Middle School in the Fort Zumwalt School District. Both are graduates of Missouri Baptist University in St. Louis, Missouri. They have 2 children, Sam and Abi.

Harvey Halcomb, Education and Evangelism Pastor

Harvey and his family moved from Ohio to Missouri in 1998. He has been a member of First Baptist since 1998 and became a full-time staff member in March of 2005. Harvey has a passion for the Word of God and helping others understand and apply it to life. His wife, Conda, is Director of the Mother's Day Out Ministry at First Baptist. They have 2 children.

Jeremy Shirley, Student Pastor

Jeremy is a native of Louisville, KY, where he lived until he joined the staff here in December 2007. He and his wife, Julie, married on May 28, 2005. Jeremy graduated from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary located in Louisville, KY. His desire is to partner with parents to see students come to know Christ and develop into God honoring men and women.

Jason Hoke, Children's Pastor

Jason is a native of Missouri. He joined the staff in August of 2006. He and his wife, Belinda, married in 1996 after graduating from Hannibal-LaGrange College. They have two children, Caleb and Sarah. He has served in Children’s ministry in Kentucky (Where he attended seminary), Indiana, Tennessee, and Missouri. -- Isaiah 40:8

Joanne Brower, Secretary

Joanne was born and raised in Racine, Wisconsin. Joanne and her husband Dallas have been married 33 years and moved to the St. Louis area in the early 1980's. She has been the church secretary for the past 8 years. They have three married children and 3 grandchildren.

Rhonda Dickherber, Administrative Assistant/Financial Secretary

Rhonda Dickherber is a part-time administrative assistant. She has been married to Kevin for 18 years and they have two teenage children. They moved back to Missouri from the Dallas area following Rhonda's retirement from SBC Inc. in 2002. She is the primary support person for the Minister of Students and Minister of Education. In addition, she has responsibility for tracking Sunday school attendance records and contribution records.

Conda Halcomb, Week-day Preschool and Mother’s Day Out Director

Conda was born and raised in Ohio and moved to the St. Louis area in 1998. She has a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from ENMU. Her husband, Harvey, is the Minister of Education and Evangelism at First Baptist Wentzville and together they enjoy serving the Lord in various church ministries. Harvey and Conda are empty nesters, have been married 22+ years, and reside in Lake Saint Louis. They have two children, both who are in college. Conda has held her current position since August of 1998. Through her work, she has ministered to hundreds of women and preschoolers. She also speaks at various women’s functions regarding women’s relationships with the Lord, their husband, and their children. Her passion is pointing children toward the Lord at an early age and ministering to and teaching women.
