What is Scrapbooking?
Scrapbooking is a way to memorialize photos and life events by placing them into scrapbooks. A scrapbook is a combination of a photo album and a journal. Milestones and precious events are preserved in albums that become family heirlooms. Scrapbookers often meet together to work and share ideas. These work sessions are called "crops".
Did you know?
“Remembrance” crops are advertised to the community in newspapers, on Craigslist, and through the recommendation of those who have attended themselves. Scrapbookers often pay for crop sessions at scrapbooking stores and conventions. They are able to crop at FBCW at no charge.
Over 500 different people have attended “Remembrance” crops over the past nine years who are not members of FBCW. Attendance averages 75% non-members.
Crops are attended by both men and women.
“Remembrance” has helped other churches start up scrapbooking ministries.
“Remembrance” has sponsored church-wide projects and has printed and shared bookmarks and refrigerator magnets, and summer kids’ activity booklets.
"Remembrance" provided buttons to be worn during the week leading up to Easter 2007 as a witness to the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
"Remembrance" purchased 1000 printed red envelopes in 2009 for church member to mail to the White House to support unborn life.
Sharing Your Testimony
Please prayerfully consider speaking at a scrapbooking crop. Most of those who have shared with our guests are not scrapbookers themselves. Both men and women have spoken at these events. If you are involved in a ministry, please feel free to share about that along with your testimony.
“Remembrance” meets on most third Fridays of the month. Crop time is from 7:00-11:00pm. Prayer and testimony time is usually around 8:00 or 8:30, but, we are flexible as to time and will be happy to work with you. If possible, do not plan on speaking before 8:00, as some of our guests don't arrive until later. Whatever time you want to speak, please come a few minutes early. Take a walk around the room to appreciate the work being done. This will put you at ease, and will create a connection with the guests. Please plan on using no more than 10 minutes. From our experience, any longer and people will start "dropping out". Please be aware that some guests may continue to work quietly while you speak. The scrapbooking team has prayerfully considered allowing people to continue working, and it is our observation, that they do pay attention. While this may not be the type of audience you are used to, please don’t feel that your words are lost to them.
If you are scheduled to speak and due to circumstances are unable to keep your commitment, please let us know as soon as possible. It would really be helpful if you could get someone else to take your place. Thank you for prayerfully considering sharing your testimony.

Keep a Faith Journal:
We pray that journaling helps you recognize and record God's daily touch on your life. In God Moments by Alan Wright, he says, "Everyone has pivotal experiences of God's loving activity in their lives. I call them God Moments. Your life is full of God Moments! The question is not whether you have had God Moments; the question is, have you harnessed their life-changing power?"
Journaling will help you harness the life-changing power of your God Moments. Using dividers, or selecting a journal that already contains sections will allow you to totally focus on finding God daily and in all aspects of your life. Please pray and ask God to reveal to you what is the best way to journal for you and if you decide to use sections; what sections you should include in your journal.
Some examples and suggestions:
*Thank you notes to God - Record your daily blessings. Your appreciation will grow for what you already have and you will anticipate more of God's blessings every day!
*Prayer Requests and Answers - After each prayer request leave space to record God's answer. It is a visual reminder that you have faith in God to answer your prayer and you are anticipating the answer. When you receive the answer, write it down so you can review God's plan for your life! This is life changing!
*Words from God - This is when God reveals or speaks directly to you through His word, other people, sermons, books you are reading, music and the Holy Spirit.
*Sermon Notes - Any time you are in the presence of people that will be teaching you, (church, bible class, seminars) is a great place to take notes and allow God to share through them powerful words and thoughts.
*Praise - This section is a place to pour out your heart to God about who He is.
*Affirmations - Affirm those in your life that you love.
*Cute Things Kids Say - Now you have a place to write all those cute things your kids say where it will not be lost or forgotten. Thank God for each thing/person you are writing about.
*Original Ideas - A great place to record your writings..poems, songs, devotionals, etc. This section can be used to record thoughts and ideas for the projects you are working on. If you have a ministry, are teaching a Bible Class, own your own company, or you are striving to balance your household - no matter what project you are working on, record your ideas, pray over them and let God guide your steps
*Radical Obedience - This section can help you become radically obedient to God. Learn to recognize the Spirit's urgings to be a servant and follow through! Record your obedience and how it blesses your life!
Get your whole family involved. Let each family member have his own journal. Come together as a family often to share God's loving activity in your life and be blessed!
Use verses/scripture-You can find verses ready to go in the form of stickers, printouts, die cut sheets, scrapbook paper etc. Find verses in a concordance for the topic of your page.
Journaling-Simply tell the details about the photo on your page while describing how God was there the whole time!
Photos-Take pictures of VBS, church picnics, youth group activities, etc. In the future, your children can look back and remember their Christian upbringing and God's faithfulness.
Title-Choose a title that tells what the whole page is about in one short phrase. Make the most of it!
Embellishments-Christian words & verses as mentioned above, plus symbols such as a cross.
Psalm 78:4...We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord.
