Hemmed In Prayer

11.15.16 | Volunteer | Ministry Team | In The Community | by Kathy Volkmann

    Purpose

The purpose of our ministry is to serve God by using our talents to sew clothing that will be used by mission organizations.  Their missionaries will use them in their efforts to reach others with the gospel.  We also sew items that are taken to local senior living facilities.  In doing so, we are providing useful items that also show God’s love and compassion.

    Description

Our ministry is hands-on – cutting out projects and sewing them.  We have various needs that can be worked on throughout the year.  We work in our homes, and on our own schedules as our time permits.  We do not have regular meetings.  We do get together a few times a year for fellowship.

    Who Are You Serving?

Our sewing efforts have gone to many places – South Africa, the Philippines, Cuba, Panama, Mexico, Haiti, Guatemala, and Peru.  We have worked with our Church mission’s effort by providing dresses and shorts for the mission teams to take with them on their trips.  We have provided 400 lap quilts, 410 clothing protectors, 90 walker totes, and over 120 shoulder wraps to a local senior living facility.

    Requirements

The only requirement is a heart to serve.  Even if you don’t sew, you could be involved by donating fabrics or other sewing items to our church H.I.P. Ministry.

    To Get Involved

We would welcome you to join our HIP group of ladies.  To learn more about our ministry contact Kathy.
